There are thousands of places around the world that urban legends call ” cursed places”. We have chosen some of them and their horror stories. Houses, bridges, and even islands can be called “cursed” because of the bad reputation they have left. Let’s see the story of these spooky places together.

Island of the Dead Dolls, Mexico

The first one is the strange island of dead dolls covered with dolls. If you want to go to the island, the only thing that welcomes you is the dolls that are hanging on the trees, all the houses have been abandoned. The inhabitants have left.

One day a young girl drowned after an accidental fall in the Xochimilco canal and her body was no longer found. After this event, a priest named, Don Julián Santana moves to the island, which is called the Island of the Dead Dolls.

Sometime later, a priest named Don Julian Santana finds the girl’s body floating down the island lake. Julian tries to bring out the body of the young girl, but whatever he does, he can not succeed. Sad and frightened, he hangs the doll he sees on the way to the cottage on the doorstep in memory of the young girl. But every time Julian comes to the lake, he sees the soul of the young lady. Julian wants to get rid of the ghost, starts hanging dolls all over the island, but could not get rid of this horrible event and in 2001 he drowned himself.

Of course, we can’t say that what Julian lived in is true. In addition, what the man went through or the ghost of the young girl was not confirmed by the second person. No one wants to set foot on this island voluntarily, even for tourism.

The Overtoun Bridge, Scotland

The Overtoun Bridge, which opened for use in 1895, is now known as the bridge where dogs committed horrific suicide. The events on this bridge began in the 1950s.

A visitor who travels to see the castle enters the bridge with his dog. As the dog walks slowly at the beginning of the bridge, it suddenly begins to make strange movements, its facial expressions change, and it suddenly jumps off the bridge.

Of course, this event does not end with just one dog. Since 1950, 600 dogs have committed suicide in the middle of the bridge with strange behaviors. At the top of the bridge, “Danger; Keep Your Dogs Tight” is also written. Because of the strange suicide of dogs, people are beginning to think that the bridge is possessed by evil creatures.

Finally, Animal Behavior Doctor Dr. David Sand goes to Paul Everton to investigate the mysterious death of these dogs. Observing the presence of a large mink nest under the bridge, Sand states that the dogs smell the mink and jump off the bridge because they cannot follow the smell. However, people are afraid of this bridge and do not approach it.

The Greek orphanage in Büyükada, one of the most beautiful areas of Istanbul, has a scary story. The orphanage, home to hundreds of children, was quickly closed and abandoned in 1964, never to be used again.

There are two different views on this. The first was a fire at an orphanage, in which a boy fell into a well while trying to escape. Second, the fire never caught fire and the orphanage was evacuated by government order.

Tells the story of an urban legend about an orphanage; The ghost of a boy who fell into a well and escaped screaming when he escaped from the fire. Many people who approach the orphanage at night hear the cry for help from the well.
